Dr. E. C. Truesdell Dies Suddenly in Oregon

Centralians were shocked Tuesday by news of the death at Salem, Ore., of Dr. E. C. Truesdell, well known local resident, who had resided in the Hub City the past 42 years. His death came in a most tragic and unusual way. Always a lover of the track and the owner of many fast horses. Dr. Truesdell was on a sulkey driving a horse belonging to H. W. Turvey in a race on the track at the Oregon State Fair when he collapsed, falling from the vehicle as the horses came into the home stretch. He was dead when attendants reached him, apparently from a heart attack. Dr. Truesdell had always taken a great interest in the Southwest Washington Fair and was elected as its first secretary. He had a wide circle of friends locally and all over Lewis county. He practiced dentistry in Centralia many years and also engaged in the stock business on a large scale. Dr. Truesdell was 62 years of age. His widow and one son, Clayton Truesdell, prominent Centralia Elk, survive him. Mrs. Truesdell had gone to Salem Tuesday morning to join Mr. Truesdell while he was attending the fair.
