DIED: Mrs. J. N. Bowen
Mrs. J. N. Bowen, one of the respected pioneers of the Cowlitz Valley, died at the family home near Toledo Friday morning. She was born in Wyoming county, N. Y., September 29, 1850. Her main name was Emma Jean Libby. In July 1870 she was married to Jasper Bowen. In 1882 Mr. and Mrs. Bowen located a homestead on Eden Prairie, six miles east of Toledo, living their [sic] until five years ago. Mrs. Bowen had been a member of the Christian church since girlhood. Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Esther Knab, Mrs. Daisy Taylor and Mrs. Blanch Taylor, all residents of the Toledo neighborhood.
