Mrs. Eliza Runkel Dies Suddenly Monday
Mrs. Eliza J. Runkel died early Monday morning from a heart attack at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Julia Cogswell. Although she was 86 years of age Mrs. Runkel had enjoyed most excellent health, her mind was bright and keen and her death came as a great shock to the family and friends. She was a woman of most kindly disposition and all who knew her held her in the highest esteem. Mrs. Runkel came to Chehalis 15 years ago from Idaho, since which time she had made her home with her daughter. She was a member of the Eastern Star lodge of Kamiah, Idaho. In addition to Mrs. Cogswell, other surviving relatives are two sons, George Runekl of Chehalis and Harry Runkel of Spokane; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Hollister of Los Angeles; a sister, Mrs. Mary Rowley of Crystal Falls, Mich.; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Fissel Funeral Home.
