Marilyn Wright Powers contributed the following obituary for her uncle, Earl Wright:

SALKUM

(Too Late for Last Week)

Little Earl Wright, invalid son of Mr. and Mrs. Wright (*Walter and Maude Mary) passed away last Thursday morning, March 4th (*no year) after a week's illness with the flu which he had not the vitality to withstand. He was late to rest Saturday afternoon in the Mt Hope cemetery at Salkum under the direction of E.C. Fissel, Rev. A.J. McKenzie of Chehalis, officiating. Had he lived until May 26th, he would have been 16 years of age. Beside his parents, he leaves a brother Ernest, and four sister: Esther, Grace, Florence and Love, to mourn his death. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community for although the little fellow in his helplessly crippled condition is better off, still he who demanded so much of their love, time and attention, will be as sorely missed in his little empty cot as he would a robust child.

The little suffer's gone to heaven.
We would not wish him back again.
But oh, we miss him so.

Notes:

(*my addition)

I believe Earl was born in 1904, as he is supposed to be a year younger than my father. Earl caught the Swine Flu that felled so many people around the end of WW I.
