"War Veteran Dies; Frank Pumphrey, Aged 86, Passes Away at Vader"

Frank Pumphrey, age 86, and a veteran of the Civil war, was found dead in bed yesterday in the home in which he has lived alone on a farm near Vader. He has always been in excellent health, but complained slightly Monday evening of feeling ill. He died apparently of heart failure. Survivors are Mrs. Blanche Medlock, Kelso, Mrs. Louise Legarde of Tacoma, and Mrs. Stella Lambert of Vader, daughters, and George of Vader, Fred of Portland, and William of Oelqua, sons. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.
