Funeral services were held sunday afternoon from the Evangelical church for Henry Christian Neiman, who died Thursday evening of heart trouble and a complication of diseases. Mr. Neiman was born in Hanover, Germany, July 12, 1854. When a boy of 16 he came to this country with his mother and siter and settled in Reedsburg, Wis. He came west in 1875, but returned to Wisconsin. In 1888 he came back with his family to stay, coming to Lewis county in 1891. Most of the time since then he had lived in Vader. He was very active until a few weeks before his death, making frequent trips to his farm about two miles from town. Last spring, with his son and daughter-in-law, he made a trip to California and the summer months were spent in visiting his sister in Wisconsin. Mrs. Neiman died last March. Of the six children born to Mr. and Mrs. Neiman, only one, Ernest H., survives him. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Anna Luehrsen of Reedsburg, Wis., and Mrs. Catherine Gade of Germany.

Rev. Wm. Plowman delivered the services at the church. Mrs. Burton Thorpe, accompanied by Mrs. A. C. Pitts, sang "Sunshine on the Hillside," "Heaven and Homeland" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." the Odd Fellows read the burial service at the cemetery. Mr. Neiman orgnized the Odd Fellows lodge here and had been a member for more than forty years.
