Death Invades Rural Home

Horace Edward (Pete) Smith, 77, was found dead at his route 2, Chehalis, home shortly before noon Saturday, and Coroner Elmer J. Olson said death appearntly was from natural causes.

The deceased was born Sept. 8, 1876, in London, Ontario, and came to the U. S. in 1900, and to the Chehalis area in 1907. Mr. Smith was a retired U. S. Forest Service employe, a member of the Chehalis aerie of Eagles, an honorary member of the FOE auxillary and a member of the Forest Grange.

Surviving are a niece, Mrs. L. E. Allender, Chehalis; a nephew, Elton Holding, Redmon, Ill., and a brother-in-law, R. E. Holding, Seattle.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Fissell Funeral Home, Chehalis. Interment will follow in Claquato cemetery.
