Discover Body of Missing Man - Death of Pioneer Mayfield Resident Said to Have Been Due to Natural Causes
Hans Johnson, aged 83, a resident of the Mayfield district of central Lewis county for 50 years, was found dead today in the woods about three-quarters of a mile from his home.
Johnson, a bachelor, who lived alone, was last seen a week ago today. Yesterday neighbors, alarmed at his absence, started a search, in which the aid of the Lewis county sheriff's force was enlisted. Their efforts were rewarded this morning.
Dr. W. C. Scott, county coroner, was notified and he left immediately for Mayfield. He announced on his return that the death was due to natural causes, the aged man apparently having suffered a heart attack.
The body was removed to the Fisel mortuary in Chehalis pending funeral arrangements.
