Henry Strand, who was brought from Winlock on Tuesday noon's train, died at Dr. Dumon's hospital on Thursday at 1:30 am. Strand was working on a new dry kiln that J. A. Veness is building at his north mill at Winlock. While standing near a scaffolding, a plank came loose and struck him on the forehead, breaking the bridge of his nose, although the skull was not fractured. He was brought to Centralia and after having his wounds dressed, appeared to be getting along alright. Inflammation of the brain set in and he died very suddenly Thursday morning. Strand has lived in Winlock about a year. He has a wife and a five months old baby. The body was taken to Winlock Thursday, where it will be interred. Strand was a Scandinavian and has a number of relatives in Centralia. He was forty-one years old.
