Mrs. Jennie Smith died on Thursday, May 13th, at her home in this city, 812 Locust street. The funeral was held on Saturday from the Free Methodist church, the resident pastor officiating. The interment was made in the Washington Lawn cemetery. Mrs. Smith was born in Davidson county, N. C., Feb. 16, 1866, and was married March 10, 1887, in Missouri, to Mr. James A. Smith. She leaves four daughters, Mayme, Nell, Doris and Mrs. Guy Greenleaf.
