Mrs. Jessie E. Swope

Winlock, Jan. 1. - The flu, followed by paralysis, occasioned the death of Mrs. Jessie E. Swope of this city, wife of Frank Swope. Mrs. Swope, who died Monday, was born in Portland 50 yeas ago; came to Lewis county with her parents 47 years ago, the family settling on Layton's prairie. Besides the widower she is survived by a son, Warren F. Swope of Winlock; a daughter, Mrs. Stella Taylor of Toledo, and a brother, T. C. Larter of Ethel. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the Winlock Methodist church, Rev. H. L. Allen officiating. Burial will be at Lone Fir cemetery at Knab, directed by L. R. Cattermole of Winlock.
