J. H. Huber, Pioneer Tailor, Dies

Jacob H. Huber, who had been a resident of Chehalis the past 35 years, died early Wednesday morning, following an extended illness from a complication of ailments. He was 62 years of age. Mr. Huber, who landed in America as a young man, was born in Germany. He came to Chehalis a few years after his arrival in the United States, and his life in this community had endeared him to a large circle of friends who had known him for many years past. Soon after be arrived in the then village of Chehalis, Mr. Huber engaged in the merchant1 tailoring business. He was an expert workman and a man whose inborn sense of honesty and square business dealing won early for him the full respect and confidence of all with whom he came In contact.

He was married here and reared a splendid famlly of sons, all of them splendid citizens;'.and he was at all times the type of most excellent citizen, whose death is a real loss to any community. Mr. Huber was active in the affairs of the Baptist church. He was a member of the local Masonic lodge, the Modern Woodmen, Woodmen of the World, Homesteaders and the Ancient Order United Workmen.

Surviving relatives are the widow, Mrs. Hattie Huber; also four [sic] sons, Carl and Frank Huber of Salem, Ore.; Walter, Jacob and Edwin Huber, all of Chehalis.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Fissel Funeral Home. Rev. W. B. Leonard, pastor of the Baptist church, will officiate. Burial will be at Claquato.
