Death Strikes Pe Ell Home

PE ELL, July 18. - John J. Craton, 87, passed away Sunday in a Centralia hospital. He was born in California November 3, 1862, and had been a resident of Pe Ell for 56 years.

A former logger, Craton lived in Centralia when Washington was still a territory.

He is survived by his wife, Harriet; daughter, Mrs. Florence M. Cook, Mt. Shasta, Calif.; a brother, O. L. Craton, Hood River, Ore., and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Baptist church at Pe Ell, with the Rev. Fred Lucas officiating. Interment will be in the old cemetery at Pe Ell, under the direction of the Boone mortuary.
