"John Oliver Doss is the father of Delia Bell Doss McMurry...He is the one who donated the land for the Doss Cemetery. The first person buried in Doss Cemetery was Alidia Bacon, John Doss's wife's sister-in-law. She wanted to be buried up where the Doss Cemetery is, so when she died fairly young they buried her there and started the cemetery."
