James Scott

James Scott died in this city on Tuesday evening, after a long illness. He was a brother-in-law of Mr. Lawrence Bar.

Mr. Scott was born at Springfield, Ostego county, New York, on November 13, 1836. He was one of seven brothers and sisters of whom but one brother, John Scott, of this city, survives him. In 1857 he removed to Spring Valley, Minnesota, where on November 11, 1860, he was joined in wedlock to Roseltha Wilkins. From this union there ws an offspring of seven children of whom four sons are living. They are Cordelia of Spring Valley, Minnesota; William of Edgerton, Minnesota; Franklin of Jasper, Minnesota and Elmer of this city.

In the year 1887 he with his wife and six sons removed to Edgerton, Minnesota, where he resided with the spring of 1903, when with his wife and son, Elmer, he came to Centralia for the benefit of his health.

Funeral services were left in the undertaking parlors of the Centralia Undertaking Co., after which the remains were shipped to Edgerton, Minnesota for burial.
