Passes In Tacoma

A retired Centralia railroad veteran, John William Huber, 80, died early Thursday in the Northern Pacific hospital in Tacoma.

Mr. Huber, born Oct. 24, 1884, in Pennsylvania, had lived in the city for 54 years. He was a retired locomotive engineer and was employed for 44 years by the Northern Pacific Railway. He retired in 1954. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Elvin Jones, Hoquiam; son, Earl Huber, Tacoma; a half-brother, Melvin Haines, Hadley, Penn.; three half-sisters, Mrs. Pearl Fischer, Berea, O.; Mrs. Tessie Rassey, Clarington, Pen., and a third sister whose address is unknown, and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services are Saturday 1 p.m. at Newell-Hoerling's, Centralia, with the Rev. Harvey C. Hartling officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View.
