"Death Overtakes Pioneer Resident"
Mrs. Lillie E. Grafton, aged 60, a member of the pioneer Sawtelle family, passed away last night at the family home, 623 E street, following a lingering illness. A native of Coffeyville, Kansas, where she was born August 5, 1875, she had resided here 50 years.
Surviving the deceased are her husband, William M. Grafton; son, Hinery Begg; two brothers, Walter F. Sawtelle, Long Creek, Ore., and Charles E. Sawtelle, Shelton, and four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Minkler and Mrs. Lizzie Webster, Centralia; Mrs. Greta Tralton, Tacoma, and Mrs. Ethel Fogksong, Rochester. A grandchild also survives.
Mrs. Grafton was a member of the Rebekah lodge.
The body was removed to the Newell-Hoerling mortuary, where funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Rev. Lulu Millestadt of Portland will officiate.
