Chehalin Succumbs

A resident of route 2, Chehalis for the past nine years, Lillard W. Brown, 74, died Tuesday in a Chehalis hospital following a lingering illness. Born March 11, 1890 in North Carolina (Ashe County), he had lived in Lewis County since 1931, coming from Ryderwood. He was a timber faller and retired in 1953.

Survivors include the widow, Lillie Ivy (Bottoms), at home; three sons, Ira L. Brown, Vancouver; Glen A. Brown, Cape Pole, Alaska; and Clifford C. Brown, San Jose, Calif.; two brothers, W. R. (Robie) Brown, Napavine, and James W. (Wilda) Brown, in Pennsylvania; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m., at the Sticklin Funeral Home in Chehalis with the Rev. L. D. Gordon officiating. Burial will follow at Park Hill cemetery in Vancouver.
