Mrs. Margaret Neville, 81, Dies In California

Mrs. Margaret Neville, mother of Mrs. J. R. Imus, wife of Chehalis' postmaster, died Tuesday in Oakland, Calif., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank L. Mary, with whom she was spending the winter. Mrs. Neville, who was 81 years of age, was the widow of William Neville, formerly well known in railroad circles at Plattsmouth, Veb., previous to the removal of the family to Chehalis twenty-four years ago. She was born September 15 1850 in Newport, Tipperary county, Ireland, coming to the United States and locating in 1869 at Plattsmouth, where she and Mr. Neville were married in October, 1872. Since the marriage of Mr. Imus and [sentence missing on my copy] Miss Agnes Neville, Mrs. Neville has had a most interesting companion over a period of years in the person of Mr. Imus' mother, Mrs. Mary Stamm of Chehalis, both of these venerable women having been born on September 15, 1850. Until recently Mrs. Neville had enjoyed fairly good health as has Mrs. Stamm and the annual celebration of their joint birthdays has been made much of by their relatives. Mrs. Neville is survived by three sons, J. D. Neville of Seattle, where he is associated with the Superior Cement Company; Chas. E. Neville, deputy Lewis county engineer; and William H. Neville, who is in business at Oakland; two daughter, Mrs. Imus of Chehalis and Mrs. Mary in Oakland; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; also a brother, Patrick Burk, of Omaha, Neb. The body will be brought to Chehalis for funeral services and burial, arriving Thursday.
