Mound Pioneer Passes

A native pioneer of the Grand Mound area, Mrs. James O. Parrish Sr., 79 passed away Monday evening at the Washington Veterans' home at Retsil.

Mrs. Parrish was born March 27 1880 at Grand Mound. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. John R. James, who crossed the plains in a covered wagon and settled at Grand Mound. The deceased was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Olympia, of the Order of Eastern Sar [stet] the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of Pioneers and the Spanish - American War Veterans' auxiliary.

Surviving are two sons, James O., Chehalis, and Wiliam R. Parrish, Pacific Beach, Calif.: a duaghter, Mrs. James C. Richardson, Olympia, a sister, Mrs. Flossie Parker, Olympia, four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services are to be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Newell-Hoerling's, Centralia. A Christian Science reader will officiate. Interment will be in the Grand Mound Cemetery.
