Pioneer Passes

Less than six months after the death of her husband and just a little more than a year after they, together had celebrated their golden wedding, Mary Jane Wynn, one of the pioneer women of this section of Washington, passed away Saturday evening at the home of her son, Norton Wynn, in Chehalis. Mrs. Wynn was 72 years of age and had lived in Chehalis since 1889.

The deceased was born in Indiana August 7, 1842, and on June 3, 1863, was married to William Wynn, the wedding taking place at Winnemac. Soon after the wedding the couple moved to Minnesota, where they remained until 1889, when they moved to Washington and to Lewis county. Norton Wynn, who is game wardon of Lewis county, and Mrs. Eva Southwick of Dryad, are the only children.

The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the home of Norton Wynn. The body was then shipped to Boistfort, where it will be laid beside that of her husband in Pleasant View cemetery.
