"Malcolm McLarty, Vader Pioneer, Dies Wednesday"

Malcolm McLarty, a prominent Mason and pioneer of this place died Wednesday morning after an illness of only a few days from pneumonia. Mr. McLarty, who had been in failing health for many months was born in Galt, Ontario, Canada 73 years ago. He married Miss Mary Pattie and they moved to Vader, then Little Falls, in 1903. After a few years they went to Puyallup to live but did not remain there long. They came back to Vader and made a home on a farm on the outskirts of town, where they have since lived. A faithful worker in both the Eastern Star and Masonic orders.

For the past few years he has been caretaker of the Little Falls cemetery which he has made into a very attractive place.

Mr. McLarty is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary McLarty, tow sisters, Mrs. George Hutchinson and Mrs. William Hutchinson of Galt, Ontario and two brothers John McLarty of Galt and Charlie McLarty of Hamilton, Ontario.

He made many friends during his long stay here who will regret his passing. Funeral services will be conducted from the home by Rev. Wm. Radamacher of the Evangelical church at the McLarty home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon under the directions of Lynch Funeral Home. Vader Masons will conduct the services at the cemetery.
