Death Removes Pioneer Woman - Mrs. Olive Eliza McCleary Had Been Resident of Centralia More Than 50 Years

Mrs. Olive Eliza McCleary, 84, pioneer Centralian and widow of Thomas H. McCleary, realtor and one time postmaster, passed away today at her home, 515 South Tower avenue.

Born in Keokuk, Iowa, October 2, 1857, she was married at Monticello, Mo., in 1887 to Mr. McCleary, and they came here in 1891. Mr. McCleary died in 1931.

Mrs. McCleary was an active worker in the Christian church and American Legion auxiliary.

Surviving are a son, Perry McCleary, Centralia, and granddaughter, Nadine.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Pontius-Cattermole chapel, Rev. Earl Van Doren officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at Washington Lawn.
