Robert Thorpe, 72 Dies At Vader

 Vader, Dec. 17. - Funeral services will be held here tomorrow, Friday at 10 a. m., for Robert Jackson Thorpe, 72 who died Wednesday, following a stroke of paralysis suffered Tuesday morning. Mr. Thorpe had been a well known local business man in company with his son, Robert B. Thorpe, the past ten years. The Odd Fellows lodge will be in charge of the funeral, after which the body will be taken to Seattle for cremation. Mr. Thorpe was born in 1859 in Clay county, Missouri. To add to his infirmities up to a few months ago he was almost wholly blind for about a year, when he was relieved by an operation. Surviving relatives are the widow; three sons, Jeff Thorpe of Bellingham, J. H. and Robert B. Thorpe of Vader; three brothers, J. H. Thorpe of St. Louis, Mo.; Amos G. Thorpe of Redding, Calif.; and George M. Thorpe of Vancouver, Wash.; also two sisters, Mrs. Florence Trafton of Anacortes, and Mrs. Belle Johnson of Vancouver.
