Husband of Former Local Girl Assassinated
An Associated Press dispatch in yesterday's papers from Chicago stated that Robert Wesenberg, 30 who had been employed on a steam shovel job under police protection, was assassinated as he left his home. Labor gangsters are credited with the killing. Wesenberg left Portland about five years ago, stopping in Los Angeles for a time. Eight years ago he married a Chehalis girl, Thelma Boggs Higgins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Higgins. A sister of Wesenberg, Mrs. Charles Stevens, lives in Centralia. Mr. Higgins received a letter yesterday from Mrs. Wesenberg, dated January 2 stating that they had been out to a New Year's party the night previously and had an enjoyable evening.
