Randle Pioneer Passes

With sincere sorrow the people of Randle and vicinity received the news of the passing away of Mrs. S. J. Haralson at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joe Moorcroft, Thursday, July 23. Mrs. Haralson was born in Georgia January 1, 1844. When four years old her parents moved to Alabama, where she was married to James T. Haralson in 1865. Mr. and Mrs. Haralson came to Washington in 1886 and located near Randle in 1890, where Mrs. Haralson has since made her home; her husband having passed away several years ago. She leaves to mourn her departure a son and daughter, J. A. Haralson and Mrs. Clara Moorcroft, both of Randle; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many friends. Mrs. Haralson's life was that of an exemplary Christian and she was respected and loved by all who knew her. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church at Randle Friday afternoon, Rev. C. C. James officiating. Arrangements were in charge of the Sticklin Undertaking Company of Chehalis. The remains were laid to rest in the Silver Creek cemetery.

Mrs. G. C. Orr, Mrs. Chas. Lewis, Mrs. Henry Moore and Mrs. A. W. Siler, all members of the Randle W.C.T.U., met at the home of Mrs. J. D. Westall Friday noon and made a wreath of sweet peas for a floral offering at the funeral of Mrs. S. J. Haralson, who was a charter member of the Randle union.
