A Chehalis Pioneer Passes - Mrs. Sarah Moore Dies Friday

Mrs. Sarah Moore, a pioneer of Lewis county, died at her home, at 1191 Main street, Chehalis, Friday, September 11. Mrs. Moore was born September 28, 1848, in Liberty township, Iowa; was married to N. B. Moore at the home of her father, Wm. H. Brobst, December 25, 1867. There were three children born, two of whom are living, Mrs. W. T. Stone of Selah, Wash., and C. A. Moore of this city. Besides these children, deceased leaves her beloved husband, N. B. Moore, and five grandchildren.

In the spring of 1885 the family came to Chehalis, where they have since resided.

Mrs. Moore, in her earlier years, was quite a prominent worker among the churches and social orders of this growing community, but during the later part of her life she gradually dropped the community work and devoted more time to her home life. At the time of her death she was a member of the Woman's Relief Corps and the Neighbors of Woodcraft.

The funeral services were held at the Fissel Funeral Home, Monday September 14, at 2 p.m., interment being in the I.O.O.F. cemetery under the auspices of the Woman's Relief Corps.
