SOCIAL ACTIVITIES IN SOUTH FORK DISTRICT.

South Fork, Jan. 5. - Mrs. John Arnold was pleasantly surprised New Year's day when a number of friends dropped in to wish her a happy birthday. A pot luck lunch was served at the close of a very pleasant afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shay and family, Miss Pauline Browning and Mrs. Flora Richard enjoyed New Year's dinner with Mrs. Hattie Kayler and Mrs. Florence Gawley.

William Westfall went to Tacoma Sunday.

Jeanne, the young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Arnold, was brought home New Year's day. She had been seriously ill a long time, but is now much improved.

Russell Ott of Ellensburg is visiting his sister, Mrs. Jess Wilkinson and family.

Mrs. Florence Gawley left Saturday for Port Angeles to visit her brother, Elmer Shay and family.

Mrs. Fred Petersen entertained the Free and Easy club of Onalaska Tuesday afternoon.

Francis Arnold, who left home some time ago to look for employemt, is now located at British, Colo.

Jess Wilkinsen had the misfortune to break a finger last week, while working at Onalaska.
