Death Takes Tom Fishback
Death came in a Chehalis hospital early Thursday to one of Lewis county's most prominent farmer-dairymen. He was Thomas L. Fishback, 61, who came to Lewis county with his parents in 1899.
The Fishback home has for many years been at Adna. He was born September 18, 1889, at Rochester, Minn. During his years as a Lewis county farmer he was president of the Washington State Jersey Breeders' association, a member of the Washington State Cattle Breeders' association and a director of the Farm Loan Bank of Chehalis.
Mr. Fishback attended Washington State College, where he played football for three years on early-day Cougar teams. In 1911 he was captain of the grid squad.
Surviving are his wife, Pearl; daughter. Mrs. Frances O'Neill, Seattle; mother, Mrs. H. O. Fishback, Chehalis; sister, Mrs. J. E. Butler, Waitsburg, Wash.; two brothers, H. O. Fishback Jr., Seattle, and G. F. Fishback, Los Mollinos, Calif., and one grandson.
Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p. m. at the John W. Boone chapel in Chehalis with Dr. Paul Crooks officiating, assisted by the Rev. George Hayes of Adna. Interment will follow at Claquato.
