T. R. Henry

Funeral services were held at Vancouver, Wash., Wednesday afternoon, January 2, for T. R. Henry of Chehalis, a pioneer of this section, who died in a Portland sanitarium Friday forenoon, December 28, following an attack of pneumonia. Mr. Henry, who was 76 years old, was born in Hendersonville, N. Car. He came to Lewis county with his family about 40 years ago and settled on a homestead near Ethel. In 1902 the family moved to Chehalis, having since that time resided at their home on Prindle street. In the early 90's Mr. Henry was county surveyor of Lewis county for a number of years, later holding a position in the Hartman & Nathan warehouse until he gave up active work. Mr. Henry was married to Susan Clayton 53 years ago, the widow surviving him. To this union ten children were born, either of whom are living. They are: Mrs. W. W. Frank of Chehalis; Mrs. C. C. Chrstiansen, St. Helens, Ore.; Mrs. C. W. Hanson of Ashland, Ore.; Mrs. H. C. Jorgensen, Onalaska; Mrs. J. G. Bennett, Vancouver, Wash.; Mrs. W. A. Allberry, Sacramento, Calif.; Mrs. H. A. Whitmer, Spokane, and Jay E. Henry of Pe Ell. The family was all present at the funeral.
