Thomas Samuel Rector, 77, a resident of Centralia for the past 45 years, died Monday in a Centralia nursing home.

He was born April 21, 1894, in Cozad, Neb. and lived in Wisconsin before moving to Centralia. He was a member of the Centralia First United Presbyterian Church, a member of the Culinary Alliance, Centralia, and was a chef at the Lewis-Clark Hotel for a number of years.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ethel Rector, Centralia; one son, Kenneth V. Rector, San Diego, Calif., a sister, Mrs. Abner (Martha) Roy, Centralia, and a son-in-law, Evan W. Hopkins, Seattle, and four grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church, Centralia, with the Rev. Ronald Rice and the Rev. Robert Marquis officiating. Graveside services will following at 2 p.m. Thursday at Washington Memorial Park, Seattle. Arrangements are under the direction of Newell-Hoerling's, Centralia.
