Ex-Resident Succumbs
Vernon A. Fear, 76, a resident of Vacaville, Calif., died at his home Friday.
He was born Oct. 12, 1893, in Missouri and was a longtime resident of Centralia before moving to California. He was a former Centralia city clerk and a member of the city commission for many years. He was a veteran of World War I and a life member and Past Adjutant and Commander of Grant Hodge Post 17 of the American Legion and a member of World War I Veterans Barracks 1809. He owned and operated women's clothing stores in Centralia and California.
Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at Newell-Hoerling's with the Rev. Wendell Cone officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
