Don Olson has mapped the location of the Veness mill based on a plat map sent to him by Wayne Galvin from the Lewis County Historical Museum. According to Wayne, there were three Veness mills. One in Winlock (Veness plant 1) and two south of Winlock. The Capitola or Veness plant 2 (later to become the Winlock-Toledo Lumber and RR Co.) and the smaller F.E. Veness mill between the former and Winlock. The Veness Mill mapped here was less than a mile from the Ainslie Mill.
