W. D. Richardson, Main street grocer, who had resided in Lewis county the past 39 years, died late Monday evening, March 18. He had been suffering from ill health for the past two or three years. Mr. Richardson was 69 years of age. He came here from Iowa in 1890. During his residence locally he farmed on the south fork of the Newaukum for several years, and engaged in the transfer business and later in the grocery line in Chehalis. Surviving Mr. Richardson are the widow, Mrs. Maude Richardson of Chehalis; two sons, Earl, who lived in Iowa, and Reed Richardson of Aberdeen; a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Chambers of Olympia; two brothers and two sisters in Iowa and a siter in California. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and Circle lodges and of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Funeral services were held at the Sticklin Mortuary at 10:30 o'clock yesterday morning. Rev. A. H. F. Watkins of the Episcopal church officiating.
