Death Takes Ex-Resident
Word has been received in Lewis county that Willard Eugene Bowers, 59, Sumner, an electrician and former Winlock resident, died June 24 at a Puyallup hospital.
Mr. Bowers was born at Winlock and spent his early boyhood in Lewis County attending the school at which his father taught. At 18, he began his electrical career in Seattle. he also worked in California and Indiana before returning to his home on Fords Prairie in 1929. He moved to Sumner in 1925 where he had been a resident ever since.
Survivors include the widow, Kathryn, at home; a son, Willis, Sumner; a daughter, Mrs. Joyce Newell, Kent; a brother, Gordon, Bothell; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Pennington, Guemes Island, and Mrs. Emily Jones, Centralia; an aunt, Mrs. Jessie Hillburger, Chehalis, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in Sumner.
