William E. Durham

William E. Durham, an employe [sic] of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph company, died Thursday night, December 31, in a local hospital of injuries received two hours earlier. Mr. Durham was sitting on an office stool at his desk in the local telephone exchange when he fell to the concrete floor, his skull being fractured.

He was 42 years of age and had been employed by the company for the past 22 years, most of the time as a lineman. He is survived by his wife, Mildred, and a 3-year-old daughter, Aloha.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Boone mortuary, Rev. Carl Johnson of the Christian church officiating. The Masonic lodge was in charge of the graveside services at Claquato.
