The death of W. H. Carson, a respected pioneer of Harmony, occurred suddenly Saturday, August 25, in front of the Walter Young cannery building a mile north of Mossyrock, while on his way home from the postoffice. Mr. Carson was found dead in his buggy, his death being attributed by Doctor Botzer of Mayfield either to heart disease or a hemorrhage of the brain. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock under direction of Fissel Undertaking Company of Chehalis at Mossyrock, interment in the local cemetery. Mr. Carson was a resident of the Mossyrock and Harmony neighborhood for 24 years past, coming to Lewis county from Ohio. He bought a relinquishment and proved up later on a homestead on Klickitat prairie. His widow survives him, as do also four sons, Frank R. Carson of Mossyrock, Geo. E. Carson of Akron, Ohio; J. L. Carson of Yakima and H. B. Carson of Aloha.
