To Open Coal Mine Near Winlock

Winlock, Dec. 8. - According to "Bud" Jones, who has a large farm and acreage west of here on the Jones road, a new industry will shortly be started, when eastern interests open up the large coal veins on his place. Mr. Jones has already leased his place for mining. The cookhouse and kitchen sufficient to accommodate a dozen men, has been constructed. Operations are scheduled to start shortly. Several experts were here several weeks ago prior to signing the lease. They are highly impressed with the prospects and claim they have a good grade of coal. Several coal miners from Gray's Harbor have been on the job and are assisting in the construction of the camp.
