Funeral services were held in Portland Tuesday for William Monson, whose death occurred in that city Sunday morning. Mr. Monson superintended the construction of the big steel bridge which the state built across the Cowlitz river at Toledo as a part of the Pacific highway. He had a large circle of friends in and around Toledo and at Chehalis as well, where he was a member of the Elks lodge. Mr. Monson is survived by his widow, four children, four brothers, one sister and his aged father. Portland Elks were in charge of the funeral, the Chehalis lodge being represented by E. McBroom, J. D. Neville, Harry Power, V. R Lee and Louis Vimont.
