Walter H. Twiss Dies at Tacoma Monday

Elma, Sept. 21. - The death of William R. Burbee, 71-year old resident of the Porter-Malone district, marks the passing of another of the small army of men who half a century ago pioneered in the logging operations of the west driving his team of oxen over the old time skid roads of Gray's harbor county. Burbee pioneered in the Harbor and Wynooche districts after coming to this county from Cowlitz county where he was born in 1860. Since his retirement from work as a logger he has lived on the farm near Porter.
