About the OR Bios Project
In May of 1997, the US Biographies Project was organized by the late Jeff Murphy, using the established KY Biographies Project as a model. The intent was to provide a single entry point to all the biography projects.
The coordinator of the OR Biographies Project is Jenny Tenlen, jtenlen -at- drizzle.com. Volunteers are needed to transcribe Oregon biographies. If you would like to volunteer for this project, please see the page, How to Volunteer.
As of 4 Jul 2018, there are 3,628 biographies on this site.

All of the biographies posted on the ORBios Project page were transcribed from sources in the public domain (published before 1921), or contributed directly by the author.
