"The Williams family lived in Castle Rock since the early 1800s, migrating from Tennessee. My Grandmother Blanche Pearl Stockman Williams came west from Wisconsin to teach school. She taught at Castle Rock High School between 1908-1914 and met her future husband Ezra George Williams. She was Superintendent of School in Skamania County between 1914-1915.

"Ezra George Williams was a District Ranger on Columbia National Forest between 1910-1917, graduating from the University of Washington forestry class of 1911. Several of their children were born in Castle Rock.

"The Williams family maintained several mining claims and worked at Spirit Lake and the surrounding area. I have other pictures of the area and some of people. Unfortunately there is little or no writing on the backs of most pictures."
