BAILOR FLOYD W. WINDOM 56 149-02B Dave Sherbrooke writes: "I know quite a bit about W. F. Bailor because he was my grandfather. Edwin was his brother and Hattie was his mother and I have information about them as well. They lived on a place they called "the ranch" and according to W. F. Bailor's draft card, it was located "11 miles east of Toledo." According to my grandmother, they purchased the property from Andrew and Louise Shattuck as the place was also known as "the Shattuck place." In a book I found in the Toledo, Washington library, there was the following entry quoted in full."A little later our district, No. 200, started a nine month term every year. Floyd Bailor was teaching at Windom and Lucy Huckley was teaching in District 200." (from A History of Toledo, Wash. found in the Toledo, Wash. library.) I am not sure that you would have much of an interest in W. F. Bailor but I have been quite interested in Windom and drove out the Cedar Creek Road until it appeared that the road ended in three private driveways. I also found a marker commemorating the site of Knab, Washington just north of Highway 505 a few miles east of Toledo. I would be glad to be of any assistance. And by the same token, I would be most interested in what you might know about Windom or Knab."
