McAfee Markers - update
Message sent on March 22, 2008, regarding the S.A.R. markers for McAfee ancestors, from
"Please notice the note at the bottom and respond.
Ok everybody here is an update on the McAfee brother's military markers. The applications for the SAR markers were sent in under the DEc. 31 deadline and I understand some may have already arrived, but not all of them. I know that Rev. Chilton had as many as a couple of dozen requests sent off at this time, so it may take a little longer, but We are still planning a mid summer ceremony, but no date as of yet.
We do need to verify some documentation of service and some personal data. please read over what I'm sending on each and respond with additions, bearing in mind that a limited space is available and usually only the highest rank will be used.

Please note that I do have other references to military service, but these are the only ones with "official" documentation that will be accepted by the government for their markers.
PLEASE note that the dates of birth for Samuel and Thomas Guant are not actually known. These are invented for the sake of satisfying the government which requires their markers to be symetrical, and since we do know month-day- year of their deaths it was suggested this would be the best option.(This is what we did last year for James & William). If anyone knows of the actual dates, please advise.
