Arthur Schneider, 42, a former Oakville resident, died Aug. 31, in Cresent [sic] City, Calif. He was a resident of Smith River, Calif., at the time of his death.
He was born Oct. 8, 1919, in Wakeeney, Kans., and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Lutheran church and of the American Legion post of Smith River.
Survivors include, in addition to the widow, Aileen, at home in Smith River; two sons, Joe and Steven, at home; a daughter, Sondra, at home; his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Schneider, Centralia; two brothers, Robert, Centralia, and Sam, Phoenix, Ariz.; seven sisters, Mrs. Rachel Hart and Mrs. Pauline Mabe, both Vancouver; Mrs. Millie Carlson, Elma; Mrs. Rebecca Smith, Seattle, and Mrs. Leah Allender, Mrs. Mollie Glanz and Mrs. Esther Nelson, all of Centralia.
Funeral services are Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., at Newell-Hoerling's, Centralia, with Dr. F. T. Lucas officiating. Burial will be at Mountain View burial park. Graveside services will be by the Oakville American Legion post.
