The WALEWIS-L e-mail discussion list was set up in 1999 by John Blair to serve as an additional forum for posting queries or sharing information about resources, history, etc. related to Lewis County. Beth Brown is the current list administrator.
You can subscribe to the List mode (which means that you will receive every posting made to WALEWIS as a separate e-mail) or Digest mode (where you will receive several postings within the same email).
To subscribe to the List mode, send a message to:
WALEWIS-L-request@rootsweb.com, and put the word SUBSCRIBE in the body of the message. Turn off all signatures before sending the message!
To subscribe to the Digest mode, send a message to:
WALEWIS-D-request@rootsweb.com, and put the word SUBSCRIBE in the body of the message. Turn off all signatures before sending the message!
To search the WALEWIS-L Archives (which contains every message ever posted to this list),
- Go to: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl
- In the space for "Name of List", type: walewis
- Press the "Submit Query" button.
You will be taken to a new page, where you can type in your query in the "Query" space, then hit "Search". You'll then be taken to a list of all messages matching your query, which you can then click on and read.
Incidentally, the URL given above works for other mailing lists at Rootsweb - so if you are on more than one Rootsweb list, you can simply type in the names of those lists to search their archives.
I hope to see all of you on the list, and thanks again to John Blair and Beth Brown for serving as listowners!
