L. D. Clevinger Passes

MORTON - A retired logger, Lorenzo Dow Clevinger, 80, died Wednesday in a Chehalis hospital following a lingering illness.

Born April 27, 1882, in Webster Springs, W. Va., the deceased had lived at Glenoma for the past 58 years. He was a member of the Lumber and Sawmill Workers union at Morton.

In addition to the widow, Mary, at home, survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Audrey hanger and Mrs. Ruth Allen, both of Glenoma, and Ruby Clevinger, at home; four sons, Leonard, Kosmos; Paul and Merle, both of Glenoma, and Lloyd, Morton; three sisters, Mrs. Cleve Stiltner and Mrs. India Dodrill, both of Glenoma, and Mrs. Grant Stiltner, Morton; four brothers, Dewey, Vancouver; Nathan, Gresham Ore.; Taylor, Tacoma, and Lawney, Bandon, Ore. 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m., at the Morton Methodist church with the Rev. Everette M. Filbert officiating. Burial will follow at the Rainey Valley cemetery under the direction of the Fissell Funeral home, Chehalis.
