Mrs. Mullins Passes

AJLUNE - A former resident here and pioneer of this area, Mrs. James (Sarah Emma) Mullins, 88, died Thursday at an Olympia hospital.

Born June 14, 1877, at Bloomingdale, Tenn., Mrs. Mullins moved to the Ajlune area in 1899 where she lived for 40 years before moving to Olympia. She was a charter member of the Ajlune Church of the Brethren and a member of the Mossyrock Garden Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Harris and Mrs. Goldie Smith, both of Olympia; a son, John L. Mullins, Tacoma; three brothers, Duran Davis, Ajlune, Mark Davis, Seattle and Kernie Davis, Kelso; a granddaughter, Mrs. Charles (Betty Lou) Auburg, Tacoma; two great-granddaughters, Marcella Lou Auburg and Suzanne Marie Auburg, both of Tacoma; and several nieces and nephews, including Centralia Mayor Ray E. Davis.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, 1 p.m., at the Fissell-Brown Mortuary chapel, Chehalis, with the Rev. Paul Burtain officiating. Burial will follow at the Doss cemetery at Mossyrock. Pallbearers will be Dale Davis, Ray Davis, Lee Davis, Noel Davis, Lowell Davis and Leonard Davis.
