T. Senter Accidentally Killed Saturday

Morton, Oct. 12. - Thurman Senter, second in the forest ranger service, with headquarters at Mineral, was accidentally killed about eight miles back in the Little Rocky mountains of eastern Lewis county, late Saturday afternoon. With two companions, Clarence Workman and John Peters, Senter was building some small cabins. They had completed one, and had moved to the site of another. Senter was cleaning out a spring, according to report, when the 45 revolver he was carrying slipped out of the holster and struck a rock, was discharged, and the bullet entered Senter's throat. He died about an hour later. Senter was about 28 years of age. His home was at Riffe. The body was taken to the Fissel Funeral Home in Chehalis Sunday morning.

Mr. Senter was a son of Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Senter, prominent residents of the Ajlune district, both of whom survive him. Other relatives are his widow, Mrs. Irene Senter and a son, Donald; five brothers, Ferdinand, Willard, Ivan and Lindsay of Ajlune and Delmon F., who is a mail carrier at the Chehalis post office; and three sisters, Mrs. E. E. Clayton of Portland, Mrs. Effie Core of Silver Creek and Mrs. Fay Kepper of Chehalis.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the church of the Brethren at Ajlune. Rev. John M. Paxton of Bethany Presbyterian church, Seattle, officiated. Burial was in the Riffe cemetery, directed by the Fissel Funeral Home of this city.
