Dryad High To Play Basketball
Dryad high school has a new coach this year and there is a reawakening of the athletic spirit, so much so that for the first time in the history of the school it put a football team into the field and played several practice games with a good showing, considering that it was all new to the players. K. D. hewitt, Linfield, Ore., college, is the new coach and he hopes to pep up the Dryad lads to make a good showing in basketball, the season for which will open in early January. Dryad has a fairly good basketball prospect, with four of last year's team available, herndon Workman, center; Walter Herdt and Albert Nelson, forwards; and Raymon McMillan, guard. Others available and possible positions are Eddie Baker, forward; William miller, Jack McMillan and Osber Delano, guards. Already regualr practice has begun and a tryout game was scheduled with mossyrock at that place Wednesday.
